it’s not even his face, you know? i get that a lot. “he’s so pretty to draw.” but i don’t much care about his looks. i just really like the way the character so obviously carries this entire freaking universe inside of himself and yet somehow manages at the same time to be so still and quiet and fierce about it, like he’s never going to let you know what the fuck is going on inside his head. so you have to look and look and look for it.
i mean, i know i’m a crazy fangirl. i know that. but i see castiel and characters like him, and there’s so much noise going on inside them, and so much silence around them. it’s like they suck all the noise into themselves, like dying stars, and you can’t help but watch the hell out of them every time they walk in the room. and it makes me want to draw them all the time.
